Effective methods of training Chihuahuas:

Lure and reward method:

As the name shows, in this method you tempt your dog by showing or smelling the things(food, toy, etc) he likes and makes him do the things you want to be done and as he does properly you reward him first by praising him verbally and giving him body expressions then offering him the thing(food, toy, etc) which tempted him.

Verbal praise can be like yes! Or you did it. This method of training is known worldwide because it is very easy to do and also it is very effective as it also makes the dog happy by rewarding him the things and verbal praise.

Clicker training:

In this method, there is also the role of rewarding the dog but in this method, a small mechanical noisemaker is used. This method is based on the belief that the action which is rewarded is likely to be repeated in the future by the pet. In this method, the dog is rewarded by clicking whenever he does the right action. For example, if you are training a Chihuahua to sit on a sofa you click at that time when it sits on the sofa randomly, so by clicking it reminds him of that moment.

Balanced training:

It is just an addition of the clicker method as in the clicker method you just reward dogs for doing the right things but in this method with rewarding you also have to inform them about their mistakes. In addition, the trainer also has to make them correct their mistakes. In this method simply trainer teaches dogs that their actions can have consequences( pleasant or unpleasant).

How to house train a Chihuahua?

Initially training the Chihuahua at home can be hard especially when you are not a trainer by profession and also when you are doing this first time. No doubt you will encounter some mistakes at first which can also make your dog feel not well. But with patience consistency and commitment
you can train your dog at house and can establish a vital bond between you and him.

Things to keep in mind:
1) Don’t scold or punish Chihuahua because it may not let him get trained but it must hurt him and can take him away from learning.

2) Don’t do harsh or physical corrections because sometimes it can turn your positive training methods into negative.

3) Always identify the mistakes that you made while training Chihuahua.

Establish a routine:
The schedule teaches pets at what time they have to eat, sit, play, and also do their work and once a schedule is remembered by the pet then you will not be worried about their habits so in house training you should build a routine that can be easy for them to remember.
